All information about your private health insurance (PKV) policy is available in the policies section of your Feather account. The policy details page shows your policy status, policy number, insured person, start date, and plan. From this page, you can also view your coverage overview, open your digital insurance card, add dependents, change your payment method, cancel your policy, and access your policy documents.
How do I access my private health insurance policy details in my Feather account?
You can access your policy details by following these steps:
Log in to your Feather account: https://app.feather-insurance.com/account/signin/question/email
Open the policies section.
Select your private health insurance policy to view its details.
Documents can be found at the bottom of the page under the "Policy documents" section.
What information is shown on my private health insurance policy details page?
The policy details page displays the following information about your coverage:
Your policy status and 8-digit policy number
The name of the insured person
Your policy start date
Your plan: Short-term, Standard, Plus, or Premium
A coverage overview, with a link to the full coverage table
How to submit claims
Your policy documents
What does my policy status mean?
Your policy status shows where your policy or application has gotten to:
Applied — we’ve received your application.
Processing — your application is with the provider.
Action needed — we need something from you, or something you’ve sent is being reviewed. See below.
Active — your coverage is in place.
Ends on [date] or Canceled — your policy has an end date or has already ended.
Not eligible — your application can’t go ahead.
Everyone on your policy has their own status, so a dependent you’ve added shows the same set of statuses as your own policy and may be at a different stage.
My policy says “Action needed”. What do I do?
First, check whether you have any open tasks on your policy page. If you do, that’s what the status is waiting on: open each one and submit what it asks for.
If all your tasks are complete, the status usually means the provider is reviewing what you sent, and there’s nothing further for you to do. If it stays that way longer than you’d expect, get in touch, and we’ll check where it’s got to.
What actions can I take from my policy details page?
You can manage several parts of your private health insurance policy directly from the policy details page. The available actions are:
Manage your policy
Start a video doctor consultation
Contact us for more assistance or additional resources
What can I do under "Manage this policy"?
Select "Manage this policy" on your policy details page to send us a request about your private health insurance. The available requests are:
Update my address
Document request
Change coverage request
Start date change
Risk surcharge inquiry
Request an insurance pause
Request a maternity benefits confirmation letter
If you need something that is not listed, such as changing your name on your policy, contact our support team, and we will take care of it.
Which documents can I request for my private health insurance policy?
You can request the following documents for your private health insurance (PKV) policy through the document request form in your Feather account:
Membership certificate, also used as a current confirmation of coverage for a visa appointment (Mitgliedsbescheinigung)
Overview of payments (Überblick über die Zahlungen)
Tax certificate (Steuerbescheinigung)
Certificate of existing insurance coverage (Bescheinigung über bestehenden Versicherungsschutz)
Documents are issued per insured person, so if you have dependents on your policy, request one for each person who needs it. A document issued for you doesn’t cover your partner or your children.
If the document you need isn’t on this list, you can contact our support team via the support chat for more assistance or additional resources. We then directly request documents that are not listed from the processing team on your behalf.
Once the document is ready, it’s sent to your registered address. If you’ve turned on digital document delivery in your Hallesche4u app, you’ll find it there instead.
Why am I seeing a task on my policy page?
A task appears on your policy page when we need something from you. The title tells you what's needed, for example, information about your previous health insurance or your KVNR. Open the task to see what to do and submit it from there. Tasks are specific to your situation, so you may see none, one, or several.
What documents are available in my Feather account?
Your Confirmation of Coverage is available in your Feather account. You'll need it to cancel your public health insurance when switching, and employers often ask for it as proof of coverage.
Any documents you've requested from us appear here too, once they've been issued and sent to us. Some documents reach you directly instead, either by post to your home address or through the Hallesche4u app if you've enabled the digital postbox, so it's worth checking there as well if something you've requested isn't in your Feather account.
We only provide digital versions of these documents, but you're welcome to print them if you need physical copies.
What is the coverage overview on my policy page?
The coverage overview is a summary of what your plan covers and what it doesn't, including doctor visits, prescription drugs, dental treatments, preventive examinations, visual and medical aids, pregnancy coverage, and treatment by a head physician.
Yearly limits apply to some benefits, so use the full coverage table linked from the overview to check the exact amounts for your plan before a treatment.
