You can submit an expat health insurance claim from your account by selecting your policy, uploading supporting documents, and providing a valid European IBAN for reimbursement. We may request additional documents or a doctor's form if what you submit isn't enough. You have 7 days after submitting a claim to add more documents to it, and you can update your claimed amount or IBAN on the claim detail page. You can also submit claims for treatments that occurred while your policy was active for up to 3 years after canceling it.

How do I submit an expat health insurance claim?

Log into your account and submit your claim by following these steps:

  1. Select your expat health insurance policy.

  2. Select "Make a claim."

  3. Upload your supporting documents — scans or photos of invoices are accepted.

  4. Enter a valid European IBAN for reimbursement.

  5. Add any notes relevant to your claim.

Once you submit, we review your claim and send updates by email.

Do I need a European IBAN to receive my reimbursement?

Yes. We cannot process a reimbursement without a valid European IBAN, as stated in our Terms and Conditions. We recommend having a bank account that can receive euro payments by IBAN, especially if you live in the EU. Digital banks such as N26, Revolut, and Wise offer free accounts with a European IBAN if you don't already have one, or you can use the IBAN of someone you trust. IBANs from the United Kingdom are also accepted.

How and when will I receive my reimbursement?

Once we approve your claim, we pay the reimbursement directly to the European IBAN you provided when submitting the claim. You'll receive an email confirming the outcome and the reimbursement details.

What happens if you need more information to process my claim?

If the documents you submitted are not enough, we'll ask for additional documentation or ask your doctor to complete a specific form. Upload any requested documents to your existing claim through your account. If we request a doctor's form, complete every field in as much detail as possible and enter "N/A" for any question that doesn't apply to you.

Can I add documents to my claim after submitting it?

Yes. After you submit a claim, you have 7 days to add more documents to that specific claim submission. Upload the additional documents to that claim through your account within those 7 days. This 7-day window is separate from any documents we request from you while reviewing your claim, which you can upload whenever we ask.

Can I update the claimed amount or my bank details after submitting a claim?

Yes. On the claim detail page under the Claims section of your account, you can update your claimed amount or the IBAN for payout to update either value.

Can I submit a claim after canceling my expat health insurance policy?

Yes. You can submit claims for any medical treatment that took place while your expat health insurance policy was active, even after canceling. You have up to 3 years from the date of the medical event to submit a claim. The process is the same — log into your account and submit the claim under your canceled policy.
