Has your visa been delayed, or your travel dates ended up changing? Well then you may need to also update your start date for your expat health policy, so let's run you through how to do it!
First and foremost, we always recommend changing your start date before your policy commences.
This is the easiest way, so when possible, please update it in advance.
Changing a start date when the policy hasn't started yet
If your policy has not started yet, simply:
Go to your Feather account
Click cancel with any reason
Your original policy will then be automatically refunded! (please note, it may take a few days though for the refund to clear back into your account).
Next:
Purchase a new policy with your updated start date
You can sign up again at the link here
That's it!
Changing a start date when your policy has already started
If your policy has already started, then in order for us to be able to change the start date and still issue a refund for the first policy, we will need proof of a new policy first.
So, please:
First purchase a new policy with your new start date
You can sign up again at the link here
Then, contact us and provide us with your new policy number and ask us to cancel the original policy.
We will then cancel the original policy and issue a refund, as long as no claims were made.
What if my policy started and I don't want to purchase a new policy?
If a policy has started and it is outside the right of withdrawal period, then a one month minimum term on the policy applies and we will not be able to refund the original policy, so we always recommend signing up for a new one with your newly updated start date!
