Once your policy is active, you will be provided with a physical health insurance card. You'll also have the option to add a digital version to your account, accessible anytime in your Feather account.
How do I use my insurance card at medical appointments?
Show your insurance card to your doctor or healthcare provider before starting any treatment or consultation. The card contains the essential information the provider needs to verify coverage.
How does billing and reimbursement work?
Doctors will bill you directly. After paying, upload the invoice to your Feather account for reimbursement. Hospital bills are usually covered directly.
How to add your digital insurance card to your digital wallet
If you'd like a digital version in addition to your physical card, you can add it to your phone's wallet:
Log in to your Feather account
Navigate to your private health policy
Select the option to add your insurance card. In your policy details, you'll find an option to add your digital insurance card. Select it, and follow the instructions to add it to your digital wallet.
Choose whether to add it to Apple Wallet (iOS) or Google Wallet (Android)
You're ready to use your digital card!
Note: your digital card is available immediately and doesn't require an up-to-date address — this only applies to your physical card below.
Getting your physical insurance card
Hallesche sends your physical card directly to your home, so make sure your details are up to date before you request it. This ensures your card reaches you without delay.
If you're an existing customer: once you've updated your address, you can request your physical card directly from Hallesche, using the contact form in the app.
If you're a new customer: as long as you provided your German address when signing up, you should receive your physical card automatically. If you didn't have an address yet at sign-up and added it later, you can request your card the same way existing customers do, once your address is updated.
