Insurance coverage only begins for your pet after the waiting period has expired, commencing from the start of the insurance policy.

It's crucial to understand that if either: a) clinically significant symptoms of an illnesses or b) the diagnosis of illnesses occurs before the insurance coverage begins, which happens after the waiting periods have lapsed, then the corresponding illness and its consequences are not permanently insured.

Special waiting periods apply to the following circumstances:

The waiting period is 6 months for insured cases due to the following diagnoses or for the following operations:

  • Entropion

  • Umbilical hernia

  • Castration/sterilization (surgical), which must be carried out because of gynecological, andrological or oncological diseases (exclusively in the case of inflammation or tumorous changes in the reproductive organs, other hormone-dependent tumors)

The waiting period is 18 months for insured cases due to the following diagnoses:

  • Ectropion

  • Elbow joint dysplasia (ED)

  • Hip dysplasia (HD)

  • cryptorchidism

  • Patellar luxation

  • Radius curvus.
