What is a phone consultation in legal insurance?
A phone consultation is an optional first step in seeking legal guidance and understanding your legal situation. During this consultation, you have the opportunity to discuss your concerns and questions with a lawyer. Here's what you need to know about phone consultations:
Purpose: The primary purpose of a phone consultation is to provide you with an initial understanding of your legal situation and to offer advice on how to proceed. Whether you have a simple legal question or need to know your rights, a phone consultation is the beginning step to addressing these matters.
Conducted by partner lawyers: Phone consultations are conducted by English-speaking lawyers in Germany. These professionals are experienced and knowledgeable in various areas of law and can offer insights tailored to your specific situation.
Duration: A typical phone consultation lasts approximately 10 minutes. During this time, you can present your situation, ask questions, and receive preliminary advice. To make the most of this time please provide as much detail as possible when submitting your call request so that the lawyer conducting the call can be prepared.
No Additional Cost: The phone consultations are offered at no extra cost. It's an opportunity for you to get initial legal guidance.
Phone consultations are not intended to replace the need for hiring an actual lawyer or seeking long-term legal support. If you already know you need your own lawyer, or the person you speak to during the phone consultation advises you to do so, then you need to submit an actual legal claim.
When should I submit a legal insurance claim?
You should submit a claim when you first become aware of a potential legal dispute requiring a lawyer or mediator. This formal claim requests confirmation that the insurance will cover legal expenses, such as court representation, document review, or contract assessments. Approval of the claim allows you to proceed with legal assistance.
What happens after I submit a legal insurance claim?
Once your claim has been assessed you will receive a response from Roland via email either denying or confirming coverage. In the event coverage is confirmed you may choose your own lawyer or mediator or request a recommendation by responding directly to the confirmation of coverage email you received from Roland. Hiring the lawyer is ultimately your responsibility, the insurance will not provide a lawyer directly.
Can I submit a claim after I have already hired a lawyer?
Yes. Although we recommend submitting a claim before hiring a lawyer to confirm coverage, you can submit the claim afterward if urgent legal help is needed immediately. When you submit your claim can potentially impact your deductible.
What should I do to prepare for a phone consultation?
To maximize your 10-minute phone consultation, provide detailed information about your legal issue when requesting the call. This helps the lawyer prepare and give tailored advice during the conversation.
Are phone consultations free?
Yes. Phone consultations are offered at no additional cost and provide initial legal guidance to help you decide how to proceed.
Does a phone consultation replace hiring a lawyer?
No. A phone consultation is to provide preliminary legal advice. If you need ongoing legal support or the lawyer advises you to do so during the call, you must submit a claim.
