Phone Consultation

A phone consultation is an optional first step in seeking legal guidance and understanding your legal situation. During this consultation, you have the opportunity to discuss your concerns and questions with a lawyer. Here's what you need to know about phone consultations:

  • Purpose: The primary purpose of a phone consultation is to provide you with an initial understanding of your legal situation and to offer advice on how to proceed. Whether you have a simple legal question or need to know your rights, a phone consultation is the beginning step to addressing these matters.

  • Conducted by partner lawyers: Phone consultations are conducted by English-speaking lawyers in Germany. These professionals are experienced and knowledgeable in various areas of law and can offer insights tailored to your specific situation.

  • Duration: A typical phone consultation lasts approximately 10 minutes. During this time, you can present your situation, ask questions, and receive preliminary advice. To make the most of this time please provide as much detail as possible when submitting your call request so that the lawyer conducting the call can be prepared.

  • No Additional Cost: The phone consultations are offered at no extra cost. It's an opportunity for you to get initial legal guidance.

Phone consultations are not intended to replace the need for hiring an actual lawyer or seeking long-term legal support. If you already know you need your own lawyer, or the person you speak to during the phone consultation advises you to do so, then you need to submit an actual legal claim.

Submitting a Claim

If you find yourself in a legal dispute that requires hiring a lawyer or legal meditator, then you need to submit a claim as soon as possible through your Feather account.

  • Confirmation of coverage: When you file a claim, you're essentially seeking confirmation that the insurance will help cover legal expenses for your dispute or situation. This stage is important as it decides if your matter qualifies for coverage, ensuring assistance for actions like court representation, document review, contract assessment, or liaising with other parties.

  • Legal Assistance: Once your claim request is approved and coverage is confirmed, you may proceed to seek further legal assistance, whether that involves hiring a lawyer, utilizing the services of a mediator, or taking other appropriate actions to address your legal concerns effectively. You can either use your own lawyer you've found, or ask to receive a recommendation. Ultimately it is up to you to hire the lawyer - we do not provide one directly to you.

  • Submit before or after hiring legal help: While we recommend submitting a claim before you hire a lawyer, so that you know if coverage is approved or not, in some cases you may need to see a lawyer immediately. If this is the case, you can still submit the claim after speaking to a lawyer.
