An accident is an event that suddenly affects the body of the insured animal from the outside and results in physical harm to the insured animal. Ingestion of foreign/damaging bodies and poisoning (including food poisoning) are also considered accidents.

If your pet has an accident after your insurance has started, you can submit the treatment costs for reimbursement right away. Accident-related treatments don’t have a waiting period — they’re covered from the first day of your policy.

When you submit a claim, make sure the veterinary invoice clearly states that the treatment is accident-related. In some cases, the insurer may ask for additional details from your vet to better understand what happened.
