Lost the keys to your rented apartment? Don't worry, we've got you covered!
Losing your keys happens to everyone, and can be really inconvenient. Your liability insurance will quickly reimburse you for your replacement set. This includes keys for the main building entrance, apartment door, garage, cellar, hotel room, office building, keys to a rented vehicle or bike and electronic keys.
Generally you'll need to get these replaced quickly so that you can get back into the building and so you don't need to wait to make a new set before making your claim.
Here's what you need to do:
Step 1. Log in to your Feather account
Head to www.feather-insurance.com and go to "Log In" in the upper right-hand corner—or just click the button below!
Step 2. Access your claims tab
Click into the claims section and then select 'New claim' and there you can submit your liability claim.
Step 3. Enter the date of the event
This date is when you lost the keys or if you're not sure exactly when that was, then enter the date you first realised you didn't have them anymore.
Step 4. Select the right claim type
If your claim is for both property damage and you've also lost your keys, you should submit two separate claims.
Step 5. Briefly describe what happened
Let us know what happened, whether there was an event that caused you to lose your keys or you simply can't find them anymore.
Step 6. Upload your invoice and give us your payment information
Upload a high-quality photo or scan of the invoice for your replacement keys. The next screen will ask you to enter your personal IBAN so we can transfer the reimbursement when it's approved.
Step 7. Wait for payment
We'll get in touch once we've received your claim and let you know when it's been processed and your reimbursement has been sent. This can 2 - 4 weeks, but it's generally faster. We'll follow up with you if we have any questions.
