How do I update my household contents policy if I’m moving or if I have to update my details?

Since your household policy is based on your current home and its size, you’ll need to ensure you keep your address and coverage details up to date. In your Feather account, you can update your address, the insured sum, the add-ons, and any other policy details.

What steps do I follow to adjust my policy details?

  1. Log in to your Feather account.

  2. Click on the “Adjust policy” button.

  3. Follow the steps to update your address, coverage, or any other relevant details.

When should the changes take effect?

You can choose the effective date for your adjustments during the process. The earliest date you can select is the day after tomorrow, or you can choose a future date that aligns with your move.

How do policy updates affect pricing or refunds?

Any changes to your premium will be shown during the adjustment process. If you’re eligible for a refund (for example, due to overlapping coverage), it will be processed automatically.

Are my belongings covered at both addresses during a move?

Your existing policy can temporarily cover belongings at both your old and new addresses for up to 3 months during the move. Please reach out to the team at Feather to let them know.

What happens if I move abroad permanently?

Please note that household contents insurance requires German residency. If you are moving abroad permanently, you will need to cancel your policy in your Feather account.

Where can I find my updated policy documents?

Once your changes take effect, your updated policy documents will be available in your Feather account.
