Who can you cover?

We can cover your spouse, biological or adopted children, and parents - even if you're insured with another private health provider yourself. They need to meet these requirements:

  1. They earn less than €556 per month

  2. Health conditions that develop after signing up are no problem.

  3. Children are covered with the same insurance as the higher-earning parent

If both parents have public health insurance, your child is added at no extra cost. The same applies if only the higher-earning parent has public health insurance.

If the higher-earning parent has private health insurance, however, that's not possible. The child can be added to private health insurance, or covered under public health insurance for about €210/month.

How to sign them up

  1. Get a quote for your entire family

If you're employed, you'll see how much your employer will cover.

  2. If you’re applying for yourself first, you can later add family to your account. If you're applying for children under the age of 6, you'll need their check-up reports (U-Untersuchungen).

  3. We'll email you within 2 business days if anything else is needed

Medical exams are only needed if they weren't insured in the past 12 months, or with certain health conditions.

  4. You’re covered!

Once approved, you’ll find all policy documents in your account.
