Household contents insurance not only covers your belongings in your apartment, but also in different storage locations as part of your apartment building as well as some external places. Don’t forget to take your belongings in these locations into consideration when choosing your insured sum.

Storage units in the insured address

Used exclusively by the people in your household for private purposes:

These must be located on the property on which the insured residence is located.

  • Loggias, balconies as well as terraces directly adjoining the building ✅

  • Outbuildings i.e - garages and garden sheds ✅

Lockable rooms used jointly by other residents:

These must be located on the same property in which the insured residence is located.

  • Bicycle cellar/shed ✅

  • Laundry room ✅

  • Attic ✅

  • Basement ✅

Storage units outside of the insured address

Our household contents insurance covers your belongings outside of your home in a storage unit. For as long as the unit is secured with a lock, for your personal use (i.e you don’t share the space with people from outside your household) and your belongings are only temporarily located there:

✅ Basic cover:

With the basic coverage, your belongings are covered up to 25% of the insured sum when stored in an external storage unit for a maximum of 3 months.

✅ Extended coverage:

With the extended coverage, your belongings are covered up to 40% of the insured sum when stored in an external storage unit for a maximum of 12 months.

Additionally sports equipment (such as diving and golfing equipment) which is kept outside the home on a permanent basis, this time limit does not apply, but instead coverage is limited to €5,000.
