Pet health insurance ensures that your furry family member receives the care they need without causing you financial strain. If you've recently incurred veterinary expenses and are looking to submit a claim for reimbursement, here's a simple guide to help you through the process.
β
Step 1: Obtain the Invoice
Before initiating the claim process, ensure you have the veterinary invoice in hand.
Step 2: Fill Out the Claims Form
Log into your Feather account and open your pet health insurance policy then click "+ New claim" to begin. We'll ask you to confirm your policy details and select the category that best corresponds to the type of service your pet received. This step helps streamline the processing of your claim.
Step 3: Provide Required Details
Carefully fill out the claims form, ensuring that all required details are accurately provided. This may include information about your pet, the nature of the treatment, and any other relevant specifics. Double-check your entries to avoid any delays in processing.
Step 4: Upload Invoices
Once the form is complete, you'll be prompted to upload all the necessary invoices. Attach the veterinary invoice and any other relevant documents that support your claim. This step is crucial for validating the expenses you're seeking reimbursement for.
Step 5: Submission and Processing
Submit your claim, and rest assured that our team will promptly begin the processing procedure. Generally, you can expect a standard processing time of one to two weeks. However, for more complex cases, the timeframe may vary.
*Please be aware that, currently, claims for pet health insurance are not visible in your Feather account until they have been processed by Feather. However, we plan to make improvements to improve this feature very soon.
β
Step 6: Claim Status Notification
After the risk carrier has completed processing your claim, you will receive an email notification from Feather regarding the status of your claim. The notification will indicate whether your claim has been approved, denied, or partially reimbursed based on the terms and conditions outlined in your insurance contract.
By following these simple steps, you can efficiently navigate the process of submitting a claim for your pet's health insurance. Remember, our goal is to make the reimbursement process as seamless as possible. If you have any questions or concerns during the process, feel free to reach out to our customer support team for assistance.

Please keep in mind that the insurance policy is subject to a general waiting period of 30 days. The waiting period begins with the start of the contract which is stated in the insurance policy. As such, coverage only begins after the expiry of this waiting period. If the time of the first occurrence of clinically relevant symptoms of illnesses or the diagnosis of illness is before the start of the insurance coverage, the respective illness and its consequences are permanently not covered.
