The start date of a liability insurance policy cannot be modified once the policy has been purchased. To use a different start date, you need to buy a new policy with the desired start date and cancel the original. You receive a full refund if your policy has not started yet or if you cancel within the 14-day right of withdrawal period and haven't filed a claim. After this period, the policy remains active until the end of the current month and a full refund is not provided.
How can I change the start date of my liability insurance policy?
The start date of an existing liability insurance policy cannot be modified once the policy has been purchased. To use a different start date, follow these steps:
Purchase a new policy with your desired start date.
Cancel your original policy.
We recommend purchasing the new policy before canceling the original. The refund you receive on the canceled policy depends on whether it has started and how long ago it was purchased.
Will I receive a refund if I cancel my liability insurance policy?
Refund eligibility depends on the status of your liability insurance policy at the time of cancellation:
If your policy has not started yet, you receive a full refund.
If your policy has already started but you cancel within the 14-day right of withdrawal period (and haven't filed a claim), the policy is canceled from the beginning and you receive a full refund.
If you cancel after the 14-day right of withdrawal period, your policy remains active until the end of the current month and you do not receive a full refund.
Refunds typically take a few business days to process.
