We released an updated bike insurance tariff on July 31, 2024 with different terms & conditions. Some requirements only apply to those policies purchased before this date and are noted below.

Theft

  • Police report: filing one is required for theft claims. It should always list all items stolen, including the bike's frame number and make/model. We recommend doing so as soon as the incident has occurred!

  • Invoice + receipt for the bike purchased to replace one: while we can file a claim for you as soon the theft occurs, you must purchase a replacement bike and provide proof in order to get reimbursed for it. (only policies before 31.07.2024)

    • You should purchase a bike that is similar in price, style, and quality of the one you are replacing.

  • Picture of where theft occurred.

  • Description of the theft: the more detail you can provide the better. Tell us where you locked it, what it was attached to, the date/time when you first parked it, and the date/time when you discovered the theft.

  • Invoice + receipt for your bike lock is required. (only policies before 31.07.2024)

Damage Due to Third Party Involvement (Vandalism, Accident)

  • Police report is required. It should always list all items stolen, including the bike's frame number and make/model.

  • Proof of total loss by store or repair shop if bike is beyond repair.

  • Invoice + receipt for replacement bike or part(s).

    • In cases where bike parts were repaired and/or replaced, the invoice should separate the cost of the parts and labor.

  • Description of the accident, including as much detail as possible (time, location, what exactly happened, extent of damage). A simple sketch of the accident is also a good idea to include.

  • Photos of all relevant damage.

  • If bike was vandalized while locked up, we need the invoice + receipt of bike lock (only policies before 31.07.2024)

Damage Not Including Third Party (General Wear and Tear, Solo Accident)

  • Photos of damage.

  • Description of damage with as much detail as possible (bike part(s) damaged, how and when the damage happened).

  • Invoice + receipt for replacement part(s), with cost of parts and labor separated. Important: cost of inspection is not covered, only the cost of repairs or replacement of damaged parts.
