Dental coverage on our long term expat health insurance

Dental health is a pivotal part of our overall health, so we understand it is important to have coverage for this area.

Our long term health insurance offers dental coverage in both our basic and premium policies. Below we provide an overview of what is included in each of the tariffs that we offer.

Dental Treatment following an Accident

Dental Treatment
Available after 6 month waiting period on the policy

In general, there is unlimited coverage for accidents and there is no waiting period for this aspect of the coverage.

Note: Accident refers to a traumatic episode only, eg fall and chipping your tooth.

Additionally, after a 6 month waiting period, you will also receive a general allowance for routine dental treatment.

Routine dental treatment includes:

  • Dental inspection, preservation eg check up or cleanings

  • Pain relief treatments such as simple fillings

  • X-Rays

  • Treatment of gums, operative and gnathological procedures

  • Dentures, including restoration of the function of dental prostheses and the installation of new prostheses, crowns, bridges and pivot teeth

  • Orthodontic treatment is available to children aged 17 years and under and includes the costs of appliances to correct the position of natural teeth

Please note: The coverage above pertains to new dental conditions that first commence after the policy begins. The coverage excludes any pre-existing conditions that were known, treated or diagnosed before the cover commenced.
