Upgrading

You can upgrade your plan anytime easily! The process for upgrading depends if you you currently have the Basic or Advanced plan:

Upgrading from Basic to Advance

First you simply need to purchase a new Advanced policy. Make sure to follow these additional steps:

  • Use the same email address associated with your Feather account to ensure a seamless switch.

  • Select the 1st date of the following month as your start date.

  • There is no need to cancel the original plan - we will do that automatically for you and refund any overlapping charges incurred.

  • Once this occurs the new policy will be activated in your account - you're all set!

Upgrading existing Advanced policy

If you already have an Advanced policy, but you want to increase your coverage for tooth replacement/restoration treatments, you can do this easily at any time.

All you need to do is send us a message and follow the chat bot instructions. We can then update your existing policy for you!

Please note that upgrading your policy is like purchasing a brand new policy. Any ongoing, planned or recommended treatments that arose while on the Basic plan will not be covered by upgrading. If you have any ongoing or planned treatments, you must complete those before upgrading your policy.

Downgrading

Downgrading your policy from Advanced to Basic, or one level of Advanced to another, cannot happen at any time. It depends on a few factors:

  • If you've had the policy less than one year, and have not submitted any claims, you can downgrade your plan.

  • However, if you've had the policy less than one year, and have been paid out for a claim, you cannot downgrade the policy until you've had the policy for over a year.

  • If you've had the policy for over one year, you can downgrade the policy whenever you like (regardless of your claims history).

To downgrade:

First you simply need to purchase a new policy.
