When is the payment collected?

  • The payment is debited automatically on the 1st of the month.

  • The 1st payment is debited once your coverage is confirmed and active. If the start date for your coverage is in the past, the first payment will be taken as soon as the coverage is confirmed.

What happens if I don't pay?

  • The first payment should be done within 2 weeks of your coverage starting. Otherwise, your coverage may be canceled.

  • If you're in arrears later, you'll receive payment reminders via email. We recommend settling any outstanding payment as soon as possible. Otherwise, your coverage may reduced, and processing fees apply.

I am employed. What do I need to know?

  • The full monthly payment is debited from your bank account. Your employer pays their share of the insurance to your bank account in addition to your normal salary. The Letter for employer will be uploaded to your Feather account once your policy is active. That’s the document your employer needs to start paying you their contribution.

  • Your employer pays 50% of your health insurance cost. Their contribution is capped at €510.

  • This is different from public health insurance, which your employer handles and deducts directly from your payslip.

Which bank account will be debited?

  • We're using the bank account you have provided in the application. You can update the payment method in your Feather account at any time. Please note that the account can only be updated if no payments are in arrears.

  • We recommend using a European bank account for a smooth transaction.
