Who needs a medical checkup?

To join private health insurance, you need medical check-ups in the cases below. Usually, a dental checkup, a general checkup with a GP, and a blood test are required. This may vary if you have certain health conditions.

  • You have certain medical conditions (i.e. high weight, recent surgery)

  • You’re over the age of 55

  • You have not had comprehensive health insurance at all times in the past 12 months

Comprehensive health insurance means expat, public, or private health insurance. Statutory health insurance such as the NHS counts, too. Travel health insurance doesn’t count.

How does Feather help me?

  1. We'll automatically check if you need check-ups after you apply

  2. If you do, we'll book appointments that match your availability

  3. You'll get up to €195 back for the appointments - no matter the outcome of your application

How long will my application take?

Usually, the check-ups are completed within 2 weeks - but it depends on the availability of appointments in your city.

To speed things up, send the medical reports to us via email right after the appointments. If you need urgent coverage, get in touch with us!
