If the difference is greater than €25, then it’s likely that some of the services rendered are not covered by the expat health insurance plan. For example, if you broke a bone and got an ambulance to the hospital for outpatient treatment, then the costs of treating the broken bone (including any related pain medication or other medicines) will be covered. However, since expat health insurance only covers ambulance transport for inpatient treatments, the cost of the ambulance would not be covered.
