Incoming insurance such as expat health is generally the most affordable option on the market, but we generally only recommend expat health for students over the age of 30 years.

Students under 30

Students under 30 should look at public health insurance as it provides much broader coverage, and comes at a discounted fixed rate of around 120 EUR per month (2024).

You can still apply for expat health though if you wish, you will just need to be aware that pre-existing conditions and preventative care will not be covered (whereas they will be on public health)

Students over 30

If you are over 30, you are unfortunately not eligible for student public insurance, so expat could be a good option until you after your studies.

Additionally, If you’re from the EU/EEA, you can use your EHIC (European Health Insurance Card).

In case your studies have extended beyond 5 years (the legal limit for expat health), you can then switch to our long term expat health insurance.
